St Boswells Juniors
The club recommend that as many parents as possible try to get along to the Club’s Open Weekend which will be run on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March between 09:00 and 16:00 each day. Parents are invited to pop down to the club and where appropriate enrol and pay your and your child’s subscription for season 2026; collect a bag tag and fixture book for 2026 and ask any questions you may have about the club. There will be a rota of club officials and helpers who can assist with forms and tell you about club life both social and competitive golf. Parental consent forms and Junior Code of Conduct forms be completed for all Juniors under 18, so this is a great chance to get this done.
Sponsorship – The Juniors are enormously grateful for a generous bequest from the estate of the late Drew Curle who was a member of the club for many years. A true character who is sadly missed. The bequest will be used to replace the Sixes Team polo shirts and to defray the cost of professional coaching by a PGA certified coach for all junior age groups. Watch out for details as the season progresses.
"Road to Home of Golf" - This is an exciting opportunity for juniors with a handicap in the range 8.5 to 54 to compete for a place in this nationwide competition. Subject to our application being approved there will be a qualifying competition at St Boswells for two qualifiers to go to St Andrews on 17th and 18th October. This is organised by Scottish Golf through the National Junior Framework. Details to follow.
St Boswells Wee Wonders New Season 2026
- Wee Wonders re-commences on Monday 4th May at 4:00pm and lasts until September. Open to junior members only between 6 and 12 years.
- During Coaching events please ensure you child wears weather appropriate clothing. If the weather is particularly inclement, we may need to cancel a session and information regarding this will be channelled through the What’s App “Wee Wonders” group.
- Owing to the popularity of the Wee Wonders, we may need to restrict numbers for Wee Wonders coaching depending on the number of helpers available. If you can help, please give me a call or speak to me on Monday evenings. I am the Club Child Protection Officer. All of our coaches/activators are PVG checked.
- Golf Sixes – we have enrolled the Club with the Scottish Golf Borders League Sixes again this year and team selection will again be made on the basis of merit and progress. Nationally, Scottish Golf Sixes had over 1400 members from 151 clubs last year! There will be three or four fixtures for us in the Borders depending upon other clubs. Our first fixture is a home match at 3:00pm at St Boswells on Friday 12th June 2026 so please keep this date in your diary. We welcome Peebles into the Border League this year. As last year there will be no regional final but clubs are invited to let Golf Sixes teams and their parents attend a Golf Sixes Open at Blairgowrie Golf Club on 4th and 5th August. Nearer home there is a similar invitation for junior golfers to play at the North Berwick Childrens course a the time of the Scottish Open (8th-10th July).
- We are aware that there have been few girls at the Wee Wonders – please consider your female members of family and friends. There are special deals for junior girls who join in pairs or threes at the same time. Just ask for details. Who knows we might even open a Little Ladies Section?
Here’s hoping for another great season
